  36.     Abstract:
  37.       This coverage includes arc segments that describe meridians
  38.       and parallels at an interval of two degrees of longitude and
  39.       two degrees of latitude in Southeast Asia (Brunei, Cambodia,
  40.       Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Papua New Guinea, Philippines,
  41.       Singapore, Solomon Islands, Thailand and Vietnam; and portions
  42.       of Australia, China and Taiwan).
  43.     Purpose:
  44.       To provide a locational reference grid of latitude and longitude
  45.       to Open File Report 97-470F Maps Showing Geology, Geologic
  46.       Provinces, and Oil and Gas Fields of the Asia Pacific Region;
  47.       Plate 2: Southeast Asia, which is being compiled as a reference
  48.       for the U.S. Geological Survey's World Energy Project assessment
  49.       of undiscovered, technically recoverable oil and gas resources
  50.       of the world.  This coverage is used to produce a map and an
  51.       Adobe Acrobat Portable Document of the map to be published
  52.       on CD-ROM. An Arcview shapefile derived from this coverage
  53.       is used in an Arcview project and an ArcExplorer project.
